Answering customer questions from your own documents
The documents most businesses already have, an FAQ, a price list, a policy page, hold the answers to most customer questions. A document-grounded assistant is the piece that lets customers ask those documents directly.
How it works
- You upload the documents. Text is extracted; formatting and files are irrelevant after that.
- A visitor asks a question in plain language.
- The assistant reads the extracted text and answers only from it, citing which document the answer came from.
- A question outside the documents is not answered. It is forwarded to the business.
What makes it work well
- Complete documents beat clever prompts. The assistant can only be as good as what you gave it.
- Keep the documents current. An outdated price list produces confidently outdated answers.
- Read the questions it could not answer. They tell you exactly which document to write next.
FAQ Plus does this as a service: upload documents, get a chat page, receive the unanswered questions by email.
